Seminary Teaching

Steve continues teaching in the Campinas Baptist Theological Seminary (FTBC),  teaching in the area of missions and spiritual formation.

      Local Church Ministry

We are members at the Igreja Batista Memorial Centenário, where Steve is associate pastor, working with  Pr. Rubens. In the Wednesday evening prayer and Bible study time I lead the Bible study.  The church is currently involved in a new church plant, initially working with youth, in the region of Vila Olímpia.

Hospitality House

Steve continues as the Executive Director of the David Rowe Hospitality House Ministry, and Debra continues in charge of the volunteers.  This is a ministry through hospitality and encouragement to children, and their families, who are going through bone marrow transplant  program to treat cancer.  We provide housing and food to mothers and their children at no cost during the time they need to remain close to the hospital for care.

This coming March, 2010, the hospitality house ministry will complete 9 years of ministry, and has a healthy financial base in Brazil, which is currently meeting the monthly support needs of the ministry.  This ministry offers to our guests a refuge of comfort, love, and compassion through the challenges of childhood cancer, and a number of guests have prayed to receive Christ through this ministry.

During our home assignment we will present the completion of the Brazil Hospitality House Project.  We are currently in the final phase of the construction that began back in January, 2009, and will terminate in December 2009.  This new hospitality house, will provide space for up to 5 mothers and their children, each having their own room and bathroom.

Boldrini Hospital Chaplaincy

Both Debra and Steve are Volunteer Chaplains at Boldrini Hospital.  They are involved in the  weekly chapel service sponsored by the hospital chaplaincy.
